Henry A. Mentz

Dr. Henry Mentz is an internationally-respected plastic surgeon who holds the distinctive honor of being the nation's first triple board certified plastic surgeon. He blends the specific technique and skills of his board certifications in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, plastic surgery, and head and neck surgery to achieve remarkable, comprehensive, and natural-looking results. Dr. Mentz has received numerous awards and global recognition for his surgical excellence and his groundbreaking contributions to the field of aesthetic plastic surgery.

In a study published by Goldline Research, Forbes magazine listed Dr. Mentz as a leading plastic surgeon in the United States. And his physician peers have repeatedly nominated him in H Magazine, Texas Monthly, and Health and Fitness magazines as one of the select “Top Docs” to whom they would send family members and friends. His expertise has been widely sought and shared through his participation in more than 150 presentations, books, and chapters.

Drawing upon his extensive training in facial plastic surgery, Dr. Mentz uses a detailed and comprehensive approach to restore a youthful, fresh appearance to the face. His method combines advanced lifting and tightening techniques with volume restoration to rebuild the youthful contours of the face through the use of stem-cell enriched fat grafts.

Dr. Mentz invented the specialized liposuction techniques of Abdominal Etching® and Pectoral Etching to give the abdominal and pectoral muscles a more defined, athletic appearance. And he has worked with one of the nation's leading stem cell researchers to advance facial rejuvenation results through stem-cell enriched fat grafting, a volume replacement technique which may have the potential to improve the skin's tone and texture. His additional contributions include the development of a combined breast augmentation and breast lift procedure, the use of fat grafts to diminish the shoulder grooves created by bra straps, and the implementation of protocols to improve procedural and operating room safety.

Through the work of his pro-bono foundation, Dr. Mentz is privileged to contribute resources to improve the health conditions and educational opportunities for those living in challenging conditions in Roatan, Honduras. A portion of his My Medispa profits is donated to purchase medical and educational supplies and improve the conditions of medical clinics and schools in the region.

Dr. Mentz received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Medical School. After completing the General Surgery program at the Ochsner Foundation of New Orleans, he went on to complete the Otolaryngology program at Tulane University School of Medicine. He followed this with specialized training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at St. Joseph in Houston.
